It is an acknowledged fact that a knowledge of at least one international language is today becoming important in ways never before realized. Globalization, ‘globalization’ and the opening up of national borders to world-wide trade means that more and more corporate houses and business-employers are looking to hire people with foreign language skills. However, even as more and more people need to learn a foreign language – either for employment requirements or even for personal reasons – facilities for truly professional training in languages continue to be either inaccessible or inadequate.

I have a background in special needs education and hold a Master’s degree. In Japan, I worked at a special needs school, supporting children aged 6 to 18 with various disabilities. I also earned a qualification as a social education supervisor, focusing on community-based and lifelong learning. In addition, I hold advanced teaching licenses for kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high school in Japan. My passion for learning about different cultures led me to study abroad in several Southeast Asian countries. Of all the places I have visited, India—especially Kolkata—has become my favorite place in Asia!

I completed a Master’s Program at the Graduate School of Education, Okayama University in Japan. After that, I worked as a public elementary school teacher in Japan for seven years, where I gained valuable experience in teaching young children and creating fun, engaging lessons. Through my teaching experience, I have come to believe that the most important thing in language learning is to enjoy the process. When students have fun, they become more motivated and confident. That’s why I like to use songs, games, and even dancing in my lessons. Let’s enjoy learning Japanese together with lots of energy and smiles!
