Dr. Subhendu Dey, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Sister Nivedita University, is a distinguished academic leader with a multifaceted career spanning teaching, research, administration, and institution-building. Dr. Dey holds an engineering degree from Osmania University, is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, and earned his Ph.D. from the Central University of Aligarh Muslim University.

Dr. Dey’s teaching and research interests lie in Marketing Analytics, and Subsistence Marketplaces with a particular focus on small and marginal agri-fresh producers. Committed to impactful research, he collaborates with global academics, NGOs, and social enterprises to improve livelihoods in subsistence markets across emerging economies. With over 50 publications and presentations in top national and international journals and conferences, Dr. Dey has also developed numerous case studies on Indian businesses. "Mastering Text Analytics," his forthcoming book, is now in press and will be released by Apress Publications, New York. His consultancy experience spans India, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Ukraine, Egypt and El Salvador.

Beyond academia, he serves on the Advisory Board of Poornakala – The Art Village (Bangalore) and as Advisor Business Strategy at ECOFIN Global Consulting (Durgapur). His contributions to academics have earned him accolades such as the MTC Global Award for Excellence 2023 (Innovation in Teaching Pedagogy) and the EDUICONS Award (The Times of India, 2016). Notably, he was instrumental in developing an innovative research cell which was rated as exemplary by CRISIL in 2011.

A man of diverse passions, Dr. Dey is an active member of Mrittika, a Bangalore-based theatre group, and has recently debuted as a Bengali author with his detective novel, Bhuban Mallick – Goenda Kahini, the first in a planned series. Guided by a strong sense of social responsibility, he mentors an underprivileged student annually in memory of his late grandfather. Driven by the philosophy that life should foster happiness and well-being for those around him, Dr. Subhendu Dey leads a life dedicated to academic excellence, creative pursuits, and societal contribution.
