ACADEMIC BIO:

Sraboni Pramanik is a Chinese language educator, translator, and researcher specializing in Chinese linguistics, Sino-Indian cultural relations, and cross-cultural studies. She currently serves as Lead Faculty in Chinese Language and Academic Coordinator at the School of International Languages, Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata, where she is actively involved in curriculum development, academic administration, and undergraduate and postgraduate instruction.

In addition, she has been associated as a Guest Lecturer with Rabindra Bharati University since 2008 and has previously served as a Research Fellow at The Asiatic Society, Kolkata in the field of Sino Indian studies since 2010- 2016.

Priyaly Chakraborty is a Japanese Language Teacher and academic administrator specializing in Japanese as a Foreign Language (JFL), artificial intelligence–assisted language pedagogy, and translation studies. She currently serves as the Lead Faculty, and Examination Coordinator at Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata. Her academic work focuses on integrating AI-driven tools such as adaptive learning platforms, AI-supported translation systems, and digital assessment methods into Japanese language education. She has extensive experience in syllabus design, JLPT-oriented curriculum development, and technology-enhanced teaching practices. She actively collaborates with Japanese universities as a mentor and interpreter. She has received professional training conducted by the Ministry of External Affair of India and the Embassy of Japan in India with the support of The Japan Foundation, New Delhi in Jawaharlal N ehru University. She is a member of JALTAI ((Japanese Language Teachers’ Association of India)

Academic Bio

Jaya Choudhury is a senior educator and distinguished translator of Spanish language and literature with long-standing academic engagement across leading educational and cultural institutions in India. She currently serves as a faculty member of Spanish at Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata, and continues her association with the Ramakrishna Mission Gol Park, School of Languages. Her teaching and research focus on Spanish as a foreign language (ELE), Hispanic and Latin American literature, and cross-cultural literary translation between Spanish and Bengali.

Jaya Choudhury is a highly respected literary translator who has translated and published more than twenty works of Spanish novels, short stories, and poetry into Bengali. Her major translated volumes include Recopilación de Gabriela Mistral, Latin America’r Pratibadi Galpo, Magic Realism’er Galpo, Chotoder Latin Jadu Bishwo, Anusoronkari, Narir Chokhe Latin Bishwo, Günterer Shitkal, Shwet Chandan, and Dash Desh Tero Nari. Also published a course book for Spanish  Language: Spanish step -1 , ISBN: 13-978-81-974036-7-5, Several of her translations have received international recognition, with three volumes published under the auspices of the Embassies of Chile and Paraguay in India.

Her scholarly and literary contributions have been honored with prestigious awards, including the Lila Roy Samman from the Bangla Academy, Government of West Bengal, and the Saraswat Samman from Little Magazine Gabeshona Kendra, Kolkata.

Academic Bio:

Tapan Sarkar is an Academic instructor IN German language at school of international languages, Sister Nivedita University. He holds a Bachelor and Master degree in German language, literature and culture. His academic interests include German language and literature, German as a foreign language, 20^th and 21^st century German literature.

A recipient of Junior research fellowship in German, UGC. He has a professional experience as a Translation associate in Amazon. Mr. Sarkar has actively participated in academic seminars, workshops, academic engagements, including Consulate General of Germany and German academic exchange centres for contributing on discussions on future academic cooperations.

Academic Biography

Rudrajit Das Thakur is an Italian Language Instructor at Sister Nivedita University, where he teaches Italian language courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His research interests span modern Bengali literature, Italian language, cinema studies, translation studies, journalism, and interdisciplinary cultural analysis (Italian-Bengali), with particular emphasis on post-Partition Indian cultural narratives, comparative literature, and cinematic adaptation. His scholarly work bridges literary criticism, film studies, and linguistic mediation, often integrating perspectives from social history and cultural theory. His major publications include contributions to edited volumes such as ‘Somaj o Sahitye Deshbhag’ (2024), ‘Prosongo Professor Shanku’ (2024), and ‘Modyajuger Bangla Sahitye Bohuswara’ (2022), which examine nationalism, science fiction, gender, and historical imagination in Bengali literature and cinema. He has published peer-reviewed articles in journals including Kornika, Tobu Ekolabya, Ebong Prantik, and Aritra. His academic achievements include receiving the First Prize for paper presentation at an inter-network seminar organized by Malda College in 2022, along with participation in national and international academic forums. Winner of the Bhasa Sangam— 1st National Multilingual Elocution competition 2023 in Bengali Language, 4th May 2023, at Jamia Millia Islamia, IZHAAR- The Debating Society, Faculty of Law.
