ABOUT THE SCHOOL OF HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT

Derived from the latin word “hospes”, meaning both visitor and stranger, hospitality has its roots in ancient history. The Hospitality & Tourism industry is rapidly expanding, & Techno India is one of Eastern India’s finest School of Hospitality dedicated to providing excellent all-round Hospitality education in this dynamic sector. 1. B.A. (Hons.) International Hotel Management and Tourism Administration, 3 years full time regular programme, prerequisite none, eligibility criteria 10+2 from any board min. 40% of marks, English as a compulsory subject, No supplementary exam should be due in any subject while admission.

2. B.Sc. (Hons.) in Hospitality & Tourism Administration, 3 years full time regular programme, prerequisite none, eligibility criteria 10+2 from any board min. 40% of marks, English as a compulsory subject, No supplementary exam should be due in any subject while admission.

3. MBA in Hospitality & Tourism Administration 2 years full time regular programme, prerequisite hotel management 3 or 4 years degree / BBA in Hotel Management/ BBA in Travel & Tourism Management with recognised university/ college/board, No supplementary exam should be due in any of the subjects while admission.

Hospitality and Tourism Management

Before Joining School of Hospitality and Tourism, Sister Nivedita University Kolkata as Dean, Prof. Verma has worked as founder dean of School of Hotel Management and Catering Technology at K R Mangalam University Gurugram and also worked with Lovely Professional University Jalandhar, CT University Ludhiana, Amity University Noida and Kolkata and Thames Valley University London (UK). He has worked with hotels chain like Holiday Inn South Africa as an executive chef, and also worked with Fariyas group of hotels, Oberoi group of Hotels, Clarks Group of Hotels and Taj Group of Hotels. He is an alumnus of GIHM Dehradun, Masters in Tourism Management, MBA in Hospitality Management and M. Phil in Business Management with 29 years of mix blend in academics and hotel industry.

He has been awarded with Best Professor award in Hospitality Management at Hyderabad. The award is being conferred upon him by AMP (Academy of Management professionals) and IDMBA (Institute for Digital Marketing & Business Analytics). Prof. Verma is Instrumental here at Sister Nivedita University Kolkata for Excellence in Hospitality education, consultancy, research projects and organization building.

Prof. Verma has authored various books and research papers and associated with training and consultancy work very actively in India and abroad.

Mr. Rahul Chowdhury is an illustrious, dynamic, young, enthusiastic, quality driven and results orientated professional with over 12 years of demonstrated success in the field of Hospitality. Mr. Chowdhury is an alumnus from IHM Bhubaneswar & was also the topper of college. He was conferred the “Best Student of the Academic Year Award” from NCHMCT “Govt. of India” for securing the first position. He also holds an MBA degree in from a prestigious University & was placed in the 1st Division. His operational experiences range from working with leading hotel chains: The Fairmont, Taj group of hotels & luxury cruise-liners- among others. He has travelled to different corners of the globe including Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Middle - east & Antarctica in pursuit of professional excellence. His academic experiences include working as the Hospitality Faculty-In-charge of Food and Beverage & Training & Placement operations at School of Hospitality and Culinary Art, The Neotia University. Apart from publishing several research papers in renowned edited books & conferences, he has also been invited as guest speaker in several National & International Conferences & Talk shows. Mr Chowdhury is also pursuing his PhD in Management (Hospitality & Tourism) from Sister Nivedita University.
